Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency and mobilized the National Guard Monday as upstate New York was set to get hit with a massive winter storm expected to drop two feet of snow from the Syracuse area to the Buffalo region.

What The Bible Says - Does The Bible Not Oppose Homosexuality? | Assault On Gay America | FRONTLINE
2024-07-08
In recent years a few adventurous interpreters have boldly claimed that the Bible actually does not oppose homosexuality. Here we are clearly in a different kind of argument, now not over the hermeneutical principles of the application of Scripture but over the directly interpretive task of determining just what Scripture says. During a concert in downtown Washington this fall, Tim McGraw performed “Humble and Kind,” the quiet Grammy-winning ballad that urges people to “hold the door, say please, say thank you; don’t steal, don’t cheat and don’t lie.”
“Hope they’re listening down the street,” he cracked at the end of the song.
McGraw didn’t elaborate on his feelings about the government, but the fact that he even vaguely referenced politics was significant.
Deep-sea divers happened upon a shipwreck on the Baltic Sea floor in 2010 and, from the wreckage, recovered 168 bottles of 170-year-old champagne. According to scientists, they had “aged in close-to-perfect conditions at the bottom of the sea.”
Emanuele Azzaretto spent years hunting for one of those bottles to taste what the sea had created, Santa Barbara Magazine reported in 2020. When he failed, Azzaretto decided to replicate those conditions as best he could by plunging bottles of wine into the Pacific Ocean, letting them sit there for a year and pulling them back up to drink.

Explore More Snopes.com describes itself as the “definitive fact-checking site,” yet turns out to be a big source of misinformation: Its cofounder has written dozens of plagiarized pieces — many of them attacks on Republican politicos.
It’s just the latest example of “fact-checking” serving as a cover for partisan, left-wing opinion.
A BuzzFeed investigation found that Snopes’ David Mikkelson has “been lying to the site’s tens of millions of readers.” Snopes, which has served as a Facebook fact-checker, confirmed that Mikkelson published at least 54 plagiarized articles under various bylines.
