Fried Plantains Recipe | PBS Food

    Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 medium ripe plantains, peeled and cut on the diagonal into ½-inch-thick slices
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • Pour enough oil into a large skillet to heavily coat the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil over medium-high heat. Working in batches, add the plantain slices to the hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes on each side, depending on the desired crispiness. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate. Season with salt and serve immediately.
